Nuala, School Principal / Class Teacher

School principal Nuala has taught in Dublin for the past eight years after graduating from St. Patrick’s college with an honors degree. The focus of her masters was literacy and parental involvement. For the past two years she has worked as an associate with the Write to Read project, delivering professional development to over 40 teachers in disadvantaged schools. She has worked as a class teacher, learning support/ resource/ EAL teacher and as the Home School community Liaison Teacher.  Nuala is the secretary of her local GAA club and a world medal holder in Irish dancing and All Ireland winner in Scor na Nóg.


Debra, our School Secretary

Our school secretary Debra, brings many years experience in the administrative sector. She is a graduate of business and communictions from Leeds Metropolitan University and is the warm and welcoming, friendly face of the school. She is very involved in her local GAA club and is actively involved in Comhaltas and is a Foroige leader.


Fiona, Class Teacher

A graduate of Scoil Raifteirí Caislean an Bharraigh and NUIG, Fiona completed her post graduate in teaching in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra and has 12 years experience teaching in a disadvantaged setting. She is a qualified NIPT mentor and specialises in early maths having trained in the Maths Recovery and Ready Set Go Maths programmes.



Helen, Special Needs Assistant

Helen has worked in a variety of educational settings over the past 15 years including mainstream and special schools. Aside from assisting the children with additional needs, she has a passion for arts, crafts and drama. Helen recently graduated from NUIG with a certificate in Special Educational Needs.



Maeve, Resource and Learning support Teacher

We are delighted to welcome Maeve to the teaching staff of our school. Maeve will be working with the children in small groups and also team teaching in class with Nuala and Fiona. Maeve is a Galway native and is very experienced having taught in Dublin for the past six years. 

Cheryl, Special Needs Assistant

Qualified in Early Childhood Care & Education, and Special Needs Assisting, London born Cheryl has lived in Tuam for the past 12 years.  A regular volunteer since 2015, Cheryl now works as an S.N.A and classroom assistant facilitating various workshops and incorporating her love of arts and crafts into the classroom


Emer, Class Teacher

Emer, a Williamstown native joins Tuam ETNS from Griffeen Valley ETNS in Dublin.  She has 5 years teaching experience in Mainstream, Resource/Learning Support and EAL.  She is a graduate of Dunmore Community School and S.t Patrick's College, Dublin.  Emer has a keen interest in sports and technology and is looking forward to being part of the Learn Together team.

Colm, Class Teacher

Colm is a native of Galway City and joins us with eight years of teaching experience in a wide variety of educational settings. More recently Colm has gained experience working with children with additional needs.  He has enjoyed working with PDST in the area of ICT.  Having attended Gaelscoil’s at both primary and secondary level Colm has an interest in promoting and speaking the Irish language.  Colm also has a keen interest in sport including GAA and plays for his local club St. James'.  He is looking forward to being involved in our GAA programme.

Renata, Special Needs Assistant

Renata formally joins the Tuam ETNS team this year as a qualified SNA but she is already a vital part of the school team having volunteered in the infant classes in 2017/2018. Renata has a passion for helping children with additional needs and her kind and caring personality make her a perfect fit.  Her interests include arts and craft and she is responsible for our wonderful new yard stencils. She has a special understanding of the challenges faced by families who are not native English speakers and are new to the Irish education system. Renata is committed to helping everyone feel welcome, included and part of the Tuam ETNS team.

Tara, Class Teacher

We are delighted to extend a warm Tuam welcome to Tara Donnellon, the newest member of the Tuam ETNS team bringing 8 years of teaching experience.  Tara loves sport and has a passion for technology and history.  She is really looking forward to sharing her experience and interests with Tuam ETNS
